Wellington is going to be the most stylish place in the country this December, what with the End of Fashion conference at Massey, and the tranche of associated events and wonderfully complementary exhibitions. At City Gallery, Cindy Sherman; at Upper Hutt’s Expressions Whirinaki, Catwalk to Cover; at the Dowse, the Fashion Museum’s On the Beach, and Te Papa’s European Splendour includes some sumptuous garments. So if you’re off to Wellington for the conference, there’s quite a lot of tripping round to do, and extra events including a public lecture on fashion exhibitions by keynote speaker by keynote speakers, Valerie Steele.
Steele and fellow keynote speaker Pamela Church Gibson have been busy with media ahead of the event, with Valerie Steele talking to Kim Hill, and Pamela Church Gibson featuring in the Sunday Star-Times.
Church Gibson is also making the trip south to Dunedin for a double header of fashion events at the Dunedin Public Art Gallery. Her public talk, Image, Fashion and Celebrity in the 21st Century, will be followed by a Couture Christmas drinks and 2017 preview designer event ($10 or free for DPAG Society members).
