Theme: Creativity under Uncertainty

In difficult times, it’s often the smallest things that keep hope alive. Perhaps it is picking up a half-finished piece of embroidery. Or simply choosing to create despite the heaviness of the world. Within darkness, human creativity does not wither; it shines quietly, and sometimes, most brightly.
We look forward to contributions that are thoughtful, brave and authentic. Work that reminds us why we create at all in uncertain times.
The next Context calls for articles, reviews, collection highlights, events and peer-reviewed papers that explore how creativity adapts and flourishes in the face of uncertainty. We are also inviting stories and conversations with makers and researchers who are willing to share their personal journeys. How do we keep creating when under strain? How does grief, uncertainty, or disruption give rise to resilience and innovation? When does hardship unravel us, and when does it become the wool from which we spin something new?
