Down in Dunedin, the iD team have started revealing the 2016 programme, starting with the announcement that this year’s international guest is Emilia Wickstead, who will also be part of the Emerging Designer judging panel. London-based Wickstead moved from her native Auckland to Milan at only 14. She studied at London’s Central Saint Martins and worked for Armani, Proenza Schouler, Narciso Rodriguez and Vogue in New York and Milan before starting her made-to-measure label in 2008. Her client base includes several UK celebrities, some of whom are internationally famous. One of them, you may’ve heard, is even a duchess.

Wickstead’s high-end appeal stems from her easy elegance. Royal wardrobes are noted for structure, colour and decorum, and there’s plenty of these in her clothes. The iD show will include pieces from her previous two Autumn-Winter collections, some of which may have made celebrity red carpet appearances. For a taste of what to expect, lots of photos and film on her website.

Tickets for this year’s iD collections and Emerging Designers shows go on sale on Monday 18 January from Ticket Direct. And keep an eye on the iD website (or sign up to their mailing list
