Fibre: Connecting People
Annual Costume and Textile Association of New Zealand (CTANZ) Symposium
19-20 May 2017, Waikato Museum, Hamilton
The CTANZ symposium call invites presentations of research papers which address the theme of Fibre: Connecting People.
New Zealand has experienced a vast migration bringing with it the thread of diversity and aesthetics with cultural textiles. The global connection of textiles allows cultures to express their values, emotions and heritage through textile story telling. This intimate connection allows textiles to speak of their journey, its social and physical environment expressed through pattern, colour, fibre, texture and stitch.

Please change the date on this to 2017, not 2007. It will help people search for the event. Kind regards, Dinah
Thanks Dinah! – Angela L
Hi there,
I have recently had major surgery and am currently in my 3rd of a 6-8 week re-couperation process. I am keen to submit an abstract or two for the up coming symposium and would very much appreciate and extension of 1 week to get this to you. I have a number of topics from my costume experience both here and in Australia, plus a stint in the Middle East back in 2011. I’ll aim to submit a variety of topics that will be both entertaining and educational. Kind regards
Gracie Matthews
