The Costume & Textile Association of New Zealand
2017 Symposium
FRIDAY 19TH – SATURDAY 20TH MAY 2017
WAIKATO MUSEUM, HAMILTON
A reminder that submissions are due 2 December for next year’s Costume & Textile Symposium symposium, to be held in Hamilton in May.
The committee welcomes papers that explore perspectives of Fibre: Connecting People, in particular the compounding influences that the diverse migration of peoples to New Zealand have had on fashion, costume, textiles, fibre, art and crafts. Exploration of the topic is sought from the perspective of the designer, maker, curator, artist, student, guild member and others, in relation to memory, object making, product design and other narratives, from a historical or contemporary perspective.
Papers are to be the duration of 20 minutes, and will be followed by a short Q&A session.
Please submit your abstract of 300 words (max) and a short biography to yannyc@gmail.com by 2 December 2016. Be sure to include your name, paper title, bio and contact email address. Please save your abstract in the following format: surname_first name.docx
