Reasons to visit Wellington (Lower Hutt, to be exact) before the end of September: Wunderruma at the Dowse, a showcase of more than 200 pieces, curated by eminent New Zealand jewellers Warwick Freeman and Karl Fritsch. It was shown in Germany earlier this year, the largest contemporary jewellery exhibition ever to travel from NZ to Europe; work by more than 75 jewellers and artists is shown alongside Maori taonga, Pacific and historical European jewellery.  Artists include Freeman and Fritsch, Michael Parekowhai, Francis Upritchard, Jane Dodd, Areta Wilkinson, Peter Madden, Octavia Cook, Len Lye, Rohan Welleans, Ann Culy, Peter McKay, John Edgar, even Colin McCahon.  And many more.

Check out the Dowse website for more photos of the airy, shiny installation, links to further media including the exhibition booklet, and information on the related Craftcamp.
